  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required
  • The incumbent must successfully complete an annual flight evaluation in each aircraft flown and maintain instrument qualification in rotary wing categories.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Flight Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
  • Position requires overnight travel away from the normal duty station for business purposes up to 10% of the time.
  • Position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • This is a drug testing designated position (TDP) under the Department of the Army Drug Free Federal Workplace Program, the incumbent must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • A one-year supervisory probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • Position requires Maintenance Test Pilot qualifications require attendance in the Maintenance Test Pilot Course IAW AR 95-1.
  • Position may require incumbent to work weekends and holidays.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) provide training for maintenance of helicopters for personnel; AND 2) manage the suitability of aircraft components or systems for a flight activity/aviation program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11).

Minimum eligibility requirements: Possession of the appropriate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot certificates, and/or military rating, meeting the applicable flight hour requirements, and possession of the knowledge and skills required for the position.
