Social Media Strategist
Overview of role:
We are looking for a social media strategist to support our team! This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious social media marketer to exercise their creativity with a variety of clients across entertainment business, health, venture capital, and technology. To be successful in this role, you have already gained some PR and social media experience within a leading agency. You are highly organized, have a proactive attitude with lots of initiative, and have the ability to manage your workload effectively across a variety of client accounts. You must have a thorough understanding of digital/social marketing.
This is a contract position at 90-100 hours per month. Budget is flexible for the right candidate. We are preferably looking for someone who can join our team in the NYC office 1-2 times per week, but will consider fully remote candidates as well.
Duties will include:
- Social Media Management - demonstrate a general knowledge of social media tools, including LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc. Create content calendars to achieve increasing engagement and follower numbers, and conduct daily community management to understand audience trends and growth insights
- Client management – build and develop strong relationships with day-to-day client contacts; coordinate team and/or client meetings
- Writing – write well-structured, persuasive copy and design imagery/graphics for daily posting
- Coordinate projects and events including inviting influencers, attending events, and preparing reports
- Understand key client information including business strategy, products and services, key customers and competitors.
Knowledge and Skills
To be successful in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:
- 2-4 years minimum in an agency or in-house setting for entertainment, technology, B2B, B2C, or corporate clients
- Passionate about storytelling and developing original and compelling content for clients
- Experience in managing and creating content across multiple social media channels: Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and social media monitoring tools like Facebook Insights, Hootsuite, etc.
- Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field
