We are looking for a Data Systems Analyst to join our team to support the USAFMCOM; Army Accounting and Audit Operations (A3O).

Your day-to-day work will include:
  • Provide recommendations and services to improve the accuracy, reliability, timeliness, and internal control environment of the Army General Fund (AGF) to enable successful attestation and audit, specifically in areas related to Secure Financials.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in using SQL or ACL tools for process optimization, data strategy, and expert knowledge/understanding of Army and DOD financial management systems.
  • Collaborate with accounting personnel to apply expert understanding of financial knowledge and data analysis to develop various tools and solutions to assist in audit readiness efforts, e.g. data reconciliation between different systems, specifically using tools such as Structured Query Language (SQL) or Audit Command Language (ACL) to perform data analysis on financial management and accounting data.
  • Identify opportunities for automation in sensitive activity systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop internal controls and monitoring mechanisms to assist in identifying system or data discrepancies.
  • Monitor financial reporting controls and report discrepancies.
  • Other duties as assigned

At a minimum you should have:
  • An active SECRET security clearance and the ability to maintain.
  • Ability to pass a T5 investigation and maintain good standing in Continuous Evaluation.
  • At least 5-10 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience and strong command of using SQL, ACL, and performing data analysis on financial management and accounting data OR experience using scripting languages such as Python, R, etc.
  • Experience providing financial management data analysis within the DoD/Army, experience working with and reporting to DoD government leadership, and familiarity with DoD financial management systems such as STANFINS, GFEBS, and ADVANA.

You will be highly desirable if you have:
  • Knowledge, understanding of, and experience with GAAP, GAGAS, FAM, FASAB, TFM, and DoD/Army FM policies.

  • Senior: $160,000 - $190,000
