
Director - Pricing Analytics & Strategy
Director - Pricing Analytics & Strategy is part of the pricing team. This team provides direct support to the merchant team with regards to regular, promotional, and clearance pricing. This position will directly manage a portion of the pricing managers as well as coordinate promotional activities across all pricing managers. The person will need to be a strategic thinker as well as a tactical executer that draws a clear line connecting the two.
Manage Promotional activity
- Research and analyze historical information to create strategies and tactics to increase sales and margin
- Coordinate the identification and forecasting of promotion and coupon discounts across all channels.
- Partner with Merch finance to identify weekly financial targets with regards to promotions
Manage Pricing Manager Resources
- Lead teams to hit and exceed financial goals
- Develop a strong sense of team / esprit de core
- Help pricing managers build strong relationships based on trust
- Help pricing managers leverage analyses that are transparent and understandable to all roles in the organization
- Oversee pricing manager day to day activities
- Support pricing managers with difficult analyses or discussions
- Help manage individual development plans for each resource
Lead successful implementation of strategic pricing projects
- Identify and implement initiatives that will make existing processes more efficient
- Identify and implement initiatives that will identify new programs that will deliver a better return on ‘discount spend’
- Identify and implement processes that should be stopped, outsourced, or automated
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Education
- MBA or Master’s degree in Quantitative field, such as Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, Statistics or Operations Research
Minimum Type of experience the job requires
- 4-6 years in Business in a complex analytical role
- Manager/Sr Analyst role in an analytical function
- Experience developing a department and process from the ground up
Preferred Type of experience the job requires
- Advanced SQL experience
- Power BI or Tableau report building
- Python experience a plus
- Retail or consumer products experience a plus, but complex analytical experience is the priority
