
Financial Management Specialist
- Administering and performing difficult and complex fund control activities impacting substantial mission-oriented programs.
- Reviewing, analyzing and reporting on various accounting functions and identifying regulatory and accounting changes, resource control functions, and operating level problems.
- Monitoring the use and rate of expenditure of budgeted funds and reviewing all fiscal transactions via the Fleet Logistics Systems (FLS) Finance and Procurement Desktop (FPD), Naval & Electronic Supply Support system
(NESSS) and Core Accounting System (CAS). - Developing methods to improve the accumulation, processing and reporting of financial data to use for presentations or reports on financial goals, objectives, and information
- .Providing expert advice on the interpretation of account regulations and impact of new legislation on program initiatives.
- Reviewing and coordinating accounting records and preparing apportionments, allocations, and operating budgets.
- Establishing and monitoring internal controls to identify problem areas, determining action required, improving operating effectiveness and ensuring and maintaining the integrity of financial and accounting information.
- Overseeing the preparation of statements and reports containing essential financial information and presenting reports to operating and program officials at all management levels.

Qualifications

Examples of specialized experience include: planning/conducting reviews of financial/accounting activities; analyzing/evaluating complex financial & accounting activities to determine compliance with applicable regulations and to assess efficiency & effectiveness; implementing criteria & standards for an organization-wide financial internal control program; assisting in the evaluation of the practice & implementation of financial accounting principles such as auditing, etc.
