Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Social Media Assistant - Internship. The Social Media Assistant will be responsible for creating and curating social media content, implementing social media marketing strategies, writing engaging posts, and managing various social media platforms on a daily basis.
This is a 6-month unpaid internship. Upon successful completion or during this period, there will be an opportunity for five interns to transition into full-time roles.
Responsibilities:
- Content Calendar Creation
- Develop two monthly content calendars, each with 25 unique content ideas (including static posts and short-form videos) based on provided references and brand guidelines.
- Brainstorm and plan content ideas that resonate with the target audience and reflect current industry trends.
- Trend & Meme Research
- Stay up-to-date with social media trends, memes, and viral content, identifying relevant ideas to implement in the content calendar.
- Ensure content ideas are timely, engaging, and can be creatively adapted to fit brand voice and goals.
- Weekly Collaboration & Meetings
- Participate in a weekly 1:1 meeting with the Creative Lead to discuss calendar ideas, refine content, and ensure alignment with brand objectives.
- Regularly communicate updates and share progress on assigned tasks, maintaining accountability to deadlines.
- Social Media Support
- Assist with caption writing, hashtag research, and other copywriting needs.
- Monitor comments, messages, and engagement on posts as needed, responding promptly and professionally to build community engagement.
- Support in posting content on social platforms and scheduling posts as per the content calendar.
- Basic Analytics Tracking
- Track the performance of content ideas post-publication and prepare simple reports on post engagement and reach to understand what resonates with the audience.
- Use insights from analytics to help improve future content calendars and recommendations.
- Content Organization & Asset Management
- Organize and maintain digital assets (photos, videos, templates) and ensure files are properly labeled and accessible for the team.
- Assist in ensuring content files are organized in folders for easy access and updating.
Requirements:
- Experience or strong interest in social media content creation, especially with short-form video platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
- Knowledge of social media trends, memes, and an eye for viral content.
- Communication skills, with a proactive approach to collaboration and updates.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, meeting deadlines and following direction.
