The Assistant Controller is responsible for providing management and leadership over a team responsible for accounts receivable (AR) and other accounting/financial activities. The Accounting Operations Manager will be at the forefront of defining new processes and implementing best practices with a customer service mindset and a focus on operational efficiency and internal controls.

Summary
This position is part of a professional accounting team and reports directly to the Vice President/Corporate Controller. The Assistant Controller is responsible for providing management and leadership over a team responsible for accounts receivable (AR) and other accounting/financial activities. The Accounting Operations Manager will be at the forefront of defining new processes and implementing best practices with a customer service mindset and a focus on operational efficiency and internal controls.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day supervision and leadership to the accounting operations team responsible for AR and other accounting/financial activities.
- Assist the Manager of Revenue Accounting and Senior Manager of General Accounting where needed
- Lead the monthly accounting close cycle for both D365 and NetSuite
- Review and approve journal entries related to various accounting transactions within the organization
- Review assigned account reconciliations and ensured reconciling items are investigated and cleared on a timely basis.
- Assist with annual financial audit by providing requested documentation in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the Finance team to support budget and forecasting activities.
- Provide strong leadership skills and training to team members on new processes/systems.
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
- Monitor internal controls to ensure Company standards are met.
- Identify and provide recommendations to streamline processes where needed.
- Participate in other projects and tasks as needed. To perform this job the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with little to no supervision. Consideration will be given to all requests made for reasonable accommodation that will assist the individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions associated with the job.
- B.S. Accounting
- Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in Accounting roles
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience
- CPA
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 and NetSuite experience preferred.
- Positive attitude, excellent written and spoken communication skills, and strong teamwork skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel and Word)
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment on assigned tasks and responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of business functions and accounting mechanics
- Excellent problem-solving skills with an above average math, analytical and reasoning ability
- Hands-on, self-directed and process-oriented
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, process-oriented, and organized.
