Project Manager (O&M Production Support)
Location: Lanham MD Onsite
5+ years of experience in production monitoring, automation, production support, and leading-edge management. Performs day-to-day management, possibly involving multiple tasks. Provides technical guidance to the project team in the performance of the work and reviews the quality of work products. Organizes, directs, and coordinates the planning and production of all project support activities.
Required Experience:
Production monitoring tools (AppDynamics or other).
Logging Aggregator and Analyzer tools (Splunk, ELK, or other).
Familiarity with Container Environments (Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS EKS, or other) and associated monitoring tools (Kiali, Prometheus, Jaeger, Grafana, or other).
Preferred Experience:
OpenShift, AWS EKS, Kubernetes.
Service Mesh (ISTIO).
Monitoring tools for OpenShift, Kubernetes, ISTIO, and RHEL7+ Virtual Machines (OpenShift Web Console, OpenShift CLI, AppDynamics, Kiali, Prometheus, Jaeger, Grafana).
Splunk.
Spring Boot (general knowledge).
Primarily responsible for:
Understanding the operating model, working with delivery partners, and ensuring a program view of all the features and how they make up the application.
Ability to understand and work within n-tier architectures.
Creating dashboards for the architectures at all levels utilizing available tools (e.g., AppDynamics, Splunk).
Operating production support between tier-1 (ITOC), tier-2 (Prod support), and tier-3 (development team).
Researching tools and software solutions to further automate production support, monitoring, and system recovery.
Identifying problems and coming up with forward solutions utilizing modern technology standards.
Identifying manual production support tasks and processes that can be automated.
Identifying system enhancements to allow for greater automation and self-healing.
Development of dashboards for executive, senior manager level, and technical team level.
Detailed understanding of the IRS enterprise defect process, including IMR (Incident Management Resolution) and PMR (Program Management Resolution).
Identification of auto-ticketing opportunities, including maturing existing auto-ticketing rules and Knowledge articles.
Project planning, scheduling, and monitoring.
Managing data calls to include coordination, analysis, tracking, and data gathering.
Creating and updating project management plans to include resources, risk management, and other management controls to be employed to meet performance and schedule requirements.
Establishing and tracking project metrics, including storing all past incidents and performing agile retrospectives to identify areas of improvement.
Working with federated delivery teams to develop appropriate stories to ensure features are hardened for production and have appropriate levels of monitoring.
Identifying all necessary stories to identify the root cause of production incidents. Working with the appropriate team to ensure prioritization and execution.
Conducting project status meetings with project stakeholders.
Supporting the Release Manager in executing and completing the Deployment Site Readiness Test (DSRT) Plan for the Production Environment for the product backlog items in each PI deployment every 9 weeks.
Providing input and recommendations to the client to update and maintain the DSRT playbook.
Working with in the Web Apps Delivery organization to update and tailor the Product Launch Go/No-Go Readiness Assessment Checklist for the product backlog items in each PI deployment every 9 weeks.
Assisting the RM with tracking the completion of the checklist items, including coordinating with Web Apps IT and Business stakeholders to gather information on the status of checklist items.
Providing recommendations to refine and update product readiness assessment activities.
Security Engineer (Penetration Tester):
Develop penetration test analysis and reports
Conduct vulnerability test, as needed
Test e-Authentication in and out of scope
Test SADI in and out of scope
Develop and finalize rules of engagement artifacts
Install additional test tools, as needed
Confirm test accounts are active
Confirm threat model and test plans
