Responsibilities: As Quality Engineer you will:
- Support implementation of methods for sampling, inspection, testing, and evaluation of products.
- Support engineering, research and development, and manufacturing departments to ensure successful transition of products and processes from design to production.
- Manage internal Welding Documentation, Customer Specification Notebooks, to comply with customer requirements and meet ISO standards.
- Manage Internal Corrective Actions and Root Cause Analysis throughout the organization.
- Assist in Customer Root Cause Analysis and Corrective actions. In charge of validating Corrective Actions.
- Assist inspectors engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product or process quality and reliability.
- Develop and write internal specifications, work instructions, supplier part specifications, and internal test methods.
- Support customer service with material authorizations through warranty analysis and communication of findings.
- May be trained as an internal auditor and perform quality audits.
- Serve as point-of-contact for quality with suppliers for nonconforming materials, PPAP, FAI, approvals, rejects, returns, and corrective actions.
- Maintain and improve methods and procedures for disposition of nonconforming material and ensures that effective root cause analysis is conducted; track implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
- Interface with suppliers to provide technical support for our products and assure quality of incoming materials.
- Ensure quality controls are set.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience;
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Mechanical, or Industrial engineering preferred. Will accept Associates Degree of relevant discipline and/or applicable work experience.
- Welding experience preferred (CWI, CWE, CWS).
- Certification as CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) or SSGB (Six Sigma Green Belt) from the American Society for Quality a plus.
- 1-3 years previous experience in a Quality engineer, quality assurance, or related role.
- Experience in regulated environment utilizing ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Excellent written communications skills, including the use of proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar to produce error-free copy, particularly composing letters, reports, and documents used for decision making.
- Outstanding Oral communication skills including tact and diplomacy which would be utilized during customer service, conflict management, development of relationships with internal and external contacts.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects including, analytical thinking, planning, prioritizing, problem solving, decision making and carrying out assigned projects with minimal supervision.
- Requires light lifting of component parts and prototype assemblies.
- Proficient in current computer software: MS Applications Word, Excel, and understanding of ERP systems.
- Safety is at the forefront of your mind when you are working, and you gladly follow all safety policies.
- You bring with you a positive attitude and the ability to work cohesively in a team environment.
- Understanding that you are part of a growing company, you have no concerns with and able to work extended hours/over-time as needed as well as some Saturdays to support that growth.
