- Performs installation, replacement, modification, preventive maintenance and repair on variety of plumbing systems.
- Works from building plans, blueprints, and sketches to plan and lay out the routing, placement, slant, slope, fall of systems and equipment.
- Operate tools and equipment such as plumb bobs, mercury gauges, dividers etc.
- Determines and installs coupling, valves, traps, and unions needed for the proper operation of systems.
- Makes periodic visual inspections on mechanical piping system.

- This position may require incumbent to work an on-call work schedule to respond to after-hours emergencies. This may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Plumber ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex Plumber duties. I am skilled in the installation, operation, testing, and repair of plumbing systems and their components such as water distribution, wastewater (sewage) treatment, well systems, non-potable water systems, fire protection systems, Tactical Vehicle Wash Facilities (TVWF), and swimming pools. I work from blueprints, building plans, and similar water/gas utility system instructions and diagrams. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Physical Effort: Work involves considerable standing, stooping and bending. The employee is required to work on ladders and scaffolds which frequently involve working in uncomfortable or awkward positions. Frequently lifts and carries materials and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this position, you must meet thequalification requirement using Skills and Ability alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
