Software Engineer

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Software Engineer for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in Alpharetta, GA.

Responsibilities:

• Provide support and enhancements of many existing in-house tools (backend and frontend) to manage the firm's data integration and data wrangling platforms.
• Build new tools to enhance self-service, automation and devops for these centrally managed platforms.
• Analyze development requirements and write technical specifications.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain object-oriented Python modules, application, and automation scripts.
• Develop, test, and maintain JavaScript/Angular user interfaces.
• Utilize strong programming skills to implement distributed systems of multi-tier architecture.
• Maintain and support existing tools and work with users while troubleshooting issues.

Required Skills:

• Bachelors Degree of Computer Science, Computer Application, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Information Technology (preferred)
• Strong backend programming skills in java, Spring Boot, CXF with 5+ years of work experience.
• Strong Database SQL skills in DB2, PostgreSQL with 3+ years of work experience.
• 1+ year working experience frontend programming skills in Angular 2+
• 1+ year working experience frontend programming skills in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Restful API client
• Experience building distributed applications running on Unix/Linux platform
• Understand the fundamentals in distributed system design, development and deployment using agile/devops practices
• Experience with tools such as GIT, Jira and Bitbucket
• A self-starter with the ability to work effectively in teams
• Excellent skill in verbal and written communication
• Good troubleshooting and problem solving skills-Good verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of Angular Material, Swagger
• Experience in either Eclipse IDE, IntelliJ or Visual Studio Code
• Knowledge of shell scripting or Perl scripting
