Social Media Coordinator
This Social Media Contractor (Maternity Leave Backfill) is responsible for assisting the our social teams in executing social strategies to drive tune-in and elevate our social presence across all social platforms. The ideal candidate is a hyper-organized, creative individual with a passion for social media and knowledge of social trends, plus excellent writing and communication skills.
Job Responsibilities / Typical Day in the Role
• Contribute to daily operations of the Food and Home teams’ social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest and X.
• Schedule social media posts efficiently and with exceptional attention to detail.
• Write attention-grabbing copy to create an exciting and valuable content experience for our followers across multiple platforms.
• Optimize YouTube videos uploads using metadata best practices and by creating attention-grabbing thumbnails.
• Stay current on platform trends and developments to keep the brand in the cultural conversation at all times.
• Monitor social media conversations and share community feedback, identify potential issues and opportunities.
• Find eye-catching videos by influencer and fan accounts to repost on owned platforms
• Potential for social video editing in Adobe Premiere.
Must Have Skills / Requirements
1) Extreme Attention to Detail and Work Ethic
a. While our social scheduling tools can be taught, a candidate’s ability to catch mistakes and flag issues cannot. The brands’ social media posts will be viewed by tens of millions of users, and the candidate must value and uphold accuracy in all of their work so social posts are ready for the world.
2) Strong Writing Skills
a. The candidate must be a strong creative writer and have solid grammar knowledge to excel in drafting social copy, creating thumbnails, etc.
3) Creative Thinker
a. While not core to this specific role, this team prides itself on putting Food Network and HGTV at the forefront of social media conversations with creative, compelling content. Creative ideas and trend spotting are key to this success.

1) Experience with Canva, Adobe Premiere, etc.
2) Experience with social media scheduling tools, including Sprout, Meta Business Suite, etc.
