Demand Planning Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Demand Planning Manager to join a global client of ours. This role will be responsible for overseeing the demand planning process, ensuring accurate forecasting, and optimizing inventory levels to meet business objectives. The Demand Planning Manager will collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, supply chain, and finance teams to drive data-driven decision-making and enhance forecast accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement demand forecasting models to predict customer demand accurately.
- Analyze sales data, market trends, and historical demand patterns to improve forecasting accuracy.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to incorporate promotions, new product launches, and market trends into demand forecasts.
- Work closely with supply chain and operations teams to ensure optimal inventory levels and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to forecast accuracy, service levels, and inventory turns, and develop improvement strategies.
- Lead S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) meetings to align cross-functional teams on demand planning strategies.
- Utilize data analytics tools to provide actionable insights for business growth and risk mitigation.
- Identify potential demand risks and opportunities and develop contingency plans.
- Continuously improve demand planning processes and tools through automation and best practices.
- Train and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain management.
- Proficiency in demand planning software and tools (e.g., SAP IBP, Kinaxis, Blue Yonder, Anaplan).
- Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical forecasting methods.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Experience in the [insert industry, e.g., biotech, consumer goods, retail] industry preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
