Overview Of Role
The Walters Art Museum is looking for an entry level position for a Help Desk Specialist. We are looking for a talented, self-motivated individual to join our team of professionals! As a Help Desk Specialist, you will work directly with our Help Desk Ticket system to ensure maximum user system operability by providing high quality and prompt Tier1 technical support to internal and remote customers regarding applications, hardware, software and basic networking issues.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain the incident-tracking database (TrackIt). Ensure that incidents are regularly updated and entered in a clear and concise manner. Provide reports as necessary.
Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Hourly Rate: Hourly Rate $19
Unit Position (This position is a part of union bargaining unit)

As a Help Desk Specialist, you will work directly with our Help Desk Ticket system to ensure maximum user system operability by providing high quality and prompt Tier1 technical support to internal and remote customers regarding applications, hardware, software and basic networking issues.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain the incident-tracking database (TrackIt). Ensure that incidents are regularly updated and entered in a clear and concise manner. Provide reports as necessary.
- Provide Tier1 Support for desktops, laptops, phones, printers and mobile devices.
- Assist in the deployment, configuration, and cable management; patch management, and testing of new workstations, peripheral equipment, and software.
- Assist with inventory management, equipment health checks, reimaging hardware, and recycling of old hardware.
- Assist with onboarding & offboarding of employees, as well as coordinating with other departments to improve our security posture and overall employee experience. Escalate unresolved issues to the next Tier as needed.
- Answering technical calls and providing phone or remote support.
- Protects and ensures data is secure and confidential.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Must have High School Diploma and 2 years of relevant IT experience or Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field and 1 year IT experience.
- Has related experience in computer troubleshooting (Hardware, Desktop Windows, Mapping Network Shares, Accessing Printers/Devices.)
- Has related experience in network troubleshooting (Diagnosing user connection issues.)
- Has related experience in user profile maintenance (Knowledge of configuring user access, adding roles).
- Has related experience in information security (Knowledge of protecting information systems, and basic knowledge of security disciplines.)
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office 365 applications.
- Very organized, detail-oriented and able to multi-task.
- Be a team player and collaborate with your peers to troubleshoot issues.
- Good analytical and research skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
