Job Description
  • A Mainframe System Programmer is responsible for the analysis, development, modification, installation, testing and maintenance of operating systems software.
  • They modify and debug vendor-supplied utilities and packages. They may also diagnose, isolate and debug software problems and perform problem resolution.
  • System Programmers monitor system capacity and performance, plan and execute disaster recovery procedures and provide Tier 2 technical support.
  • They are responsible for Z/OS operation, Z/OS support including problem analysis and resolution.
  • This Systems Programmer will also be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and operating the BMC Control-M scheduler software on the system.
  • This person will also be responsible for maintaining and working with other third-party software installed in the system environment, such as VTAM-SWITCH and other installed supporting ISV software.
