Director of Sales - US & Canada
Reports To: President
Summary:
This position will be responsible for leading Malco’s domestic and Canadian business of Malco Automotive, Presta Marine and Presta Automotive. The individual will be responsible for co-developing the sales strategy to achieve Malco’s significant growth goals, leading and executing the sales plan, and Managing and developing the sales organization.
Specific Duties: Specific duties are intended to describe activities that support the summary above. The list is not all inclusive – other duties may be required to cover the breadth and depth of the position.
- Co-own the development and execution of strategic business plans to drive branded product growth through existing and new channels and markets.
- Drive and deliver on annual sales growth goals.
- Create and maintain solid and trusting relationships with all Malco and Presta customers.
- Lead a highly accountable, fact-based, disciplined and process-oriented sales team.
- Drive growth with new and existing customers to achieve corporate sales goals
- Planning & metric systems in place for sales initiatives, brand building, pricing, and market development
- Achieve and manage the annual sales budget, sales training and performance metrics.
- Participate and contribute on the Proprietary Leadership team to include the following - President, Director of Marketing, Director of International Sales & Director of Domestic Sales.
- Hold business review and sales staff meetings on an appropriate cadence to drive results and accountability.
- Ability to demo products and train customers as necessary
- Provide feedback to product management team and help with new product ideas based on market and customer needs
- Travel and visit with key customers.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Travel: 50% + travel in US and Canada
Experience:
- 5 to 10 years of experience in Sales Management; preferably in B2B distributor business.
- Track record of growing sales
- Behavioral and organizational awareness
- Straightforward style and approach that utilizes data and fact to back-up opinion and
comments
- Aligned with leadership values; and will help strengthen Malco’s culture
- Ability coach and develop and grow the sales team
- Automotive Enthusiast is a plus
