Job Title: Azure DevOps Engineer
Location: Hybrid Buffalo, NY or Wilmington, DE (Onsite 3 days per week)
Job Type: Contract or Contract-to-Hire (18-month duration, split into six-month increments)
Role Overview:
M&T Bank is seeking a highly skilled Azure DevOps Engineer to support its modernization initiatives. This role will focus on Azure infrastructure, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and security best practices to ensure scalable, reliable, and high-performing cloud environments. The successful candidate will work within a 40-member team to architect, manage, and optimize cloud-based systems for the bank's critical applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Azure Cloud Operations & Management: Maintain and optimize Microsoft Azure environments, ensuring high availability, security, and cost efficiency.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design and implement Terraform scripts to automate cloud infrastructure provisioning.
- CI/CD Pipeline Management: Develop, optimize, and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes.
- Containerization & Orchestration: Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Automation & Scripting: Leverage PowerShell, Python, or Bash for automation, monitoring, and configuration management.
- Security & Compliance: Implement network security best practices, identity management (IAM), and compliance controls within Azure.
- Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Utilize Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics for troubleshooting and performance tuning.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, cloud architects, and security engineers to drive DevOps best practices and innovation.
Required Qualifications (Must-Haves):
1) A minimum of five years of experience working with Microsoft Azure in a DevOps capacity, including operations, architecture, configuration, and management.
2) Expertise in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) with Terraform.
3) Proficient with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
4) Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
5) Knowledge of automation tools, scripting languages, and monitoring solutions.
6) Strong understanding of network architecture, security protocols, and best practices within cloud environments.
7) Relevant Azure certifications, such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, are high preferred.
Soft Skills:
- Communication: 10/10 Must be able to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance DevOps processes in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaboration: Work within a large team to develop, deploy, and maintain cloud solutions.
