Computer Aided Design Designer
The Design & Drafting Support Specialist will assist in all phases of project development, with a primary focus on detailed engineering. This position will be assigned to specific projects and will play an essential role in supporting the design and drafting efforts, under the guidance of senior engineers and designers.
Responsibilities:
- Assist lead designers and engineers with basic design and drafting for various disciplines, following verbal direction and redlines.
- Gain familiarity with company programs, staff, and operating procedures while contributing to design tasks.
- Perform field verification in existing facilities using traditional measuring techniques and/or 3D Laser Scanning.
- Assist in the preparation of design drawings and sketches, utilizing 3D modeling software and Laser Scans, under the guidance of lead designers and engineers.
- Support the development of technical drawings that meet project specifications and quality standards.
Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Design Drafting preferred. Candidates with extensive experience, but without a degree, will also be considered.
- High proficiency in Autodesk-based CAD systems (AutoCAD, Navisworks, Vault, etc.), Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- 3D design and modeling experience preferred; Revit experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with design software and 3D modeling techniques will be highly beneficial.
Certifications, Credentials, Licenses & Registrations:
- Eligibility to obtain or currently hold a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) is required.
