EHS Specialist – Manufacturing Industry

We’re looking for a dedicated EHS Specialist to join their team and help foster a culture of workplace safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. What You’ll Do:

  • Act as a key liaison for global safety initiatives, collaborating with internal teams to implement best practices.
  • Work closely with vendors to procure necessary safety equipment and supplies.
  • Partner with management and employees to promote an engaged, proactive safety culture.
  • Support drug-free workplace policies and compliance efforts.
  • Conduct daily safety audits across production areas, ensuring adherence to EHS protocols.
  • Track, analyze, and communicate EHS metrics through various reporting channels, including meetings and digital platforms.
  • Organize and lead monthly Safety Committee meetings to discuss improvement strategies.
  • Develop and manage safety incentive programs, training sessions, and awareness campaigns.
  • Oversee chemical safety compliance, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS), hazardous material management, and waste disposal.
  • Assist with root cause analysis for workplace incidents, including injuries, near-misses, and property damage.
  • Provide support in managing Workers’ Compensation claims when necessary.
  • Stay current on evolving EHS regulations and implement necessary policy adjustments.
  • Lead onboarding training for new hires, including PPE demonstrations and safety protocols.
  • Coordinate ongoing safety and environmental training to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure all departments align with health, safety, and environmental policies to protect employees and visitors.

What You Bring:

  • A degree or certification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
  • Familiarity with workplace safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess risks, identify solutions, and implement improvements.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for training and policy enforcement.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently while collaborating with teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment, including time on the manufacturing floor and exposure to varying conditions.
