Product Designer

Job description:

• Execute new product development projects. May conduct design analysis on components and/or assemblies to assist in the development process by ensuring designs are cost efficient, manufacturable, and reliable. Communicates with the other engineering personnel to coordinate the interrelated design and assure project completion.
• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and five years of related experience.
• 5+ years of experience in product design and development of Casting, Plastic and Sheet metal commodity in heavy equipment domain
• Should have strong demonstration design skills in preparing the Concept design, Prototype design and Series design
• Good knowledge on manufacturing processes and methodologies.
• Should have excellent knowledge and hands on experience in part modelling, Surface modelling, Assembly methodology, Detailing’s by using Creo
• Should have hands on experience in usage of Geometric dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Should have strong knowledge in usage of materials, Surface coatings and Various heat treatment process
• Should have hands on experience in preparing the product design calculations, Component design specifications etc
• Should have hands on experience in Value engineering methodologies for product optimization
• Should have good knowledge and hands on experience in Design for reliability, Design for manufacturability and Design for assembly
• Should have good knowledge in design verification methodologies like FE analysis by using Creo simulation
• Should have hands on experience in preparing the Design Failure mode and Effects analysis for component level, sub system level and system level
• Should have good knowledge in usage of ISO/IS/DIN standards
• Strong Interpersonal & communication skills.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing engineering
• 5+ years of in new product design and development of Casting, Plastic and Sheet metal commodity
• Previous working knowledge of NPI process
