Inventory Manager (Event Tickets)
About Us
Big Time Tix is a fast-moving, high-energy ticket resale company dedicated to optimizing ticket sales through strategic inventory management, pricing strategies, and risk mitigation. We operate in a fast-paced, fast-moving market where smart, data-driven decisions drive success.
We’re looking for an Inventory Manager who can stay ahead of the market, lead a remote team, and make smart, strategic decisions under pressure. If you’re someone who thrives in fast-paced, data-driven environments, enjoys analyzing trends, and is comfortable making high-stakes decisions in real time, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
Inventory & Pricing Management
- Oversee day-to-day ticket inventory, ensuring accuracy and adjusting forecasts based on sales trends and demand.
- Work with the buying team (3-10 employees) to make sure we’re acquiring the right tickets at the right time.
- Manage pricing strategies to maximize sales, using market data and competitor analysis to adjust in real time.
- Coordinate with the overnight risk and pricing specialist to fine-tune pricing and stay competitive.
- Learn and use automated pricing tools (Skybox POS and Drive) to optimize listings dynamically.
Risk & Market Strategy
- Keep a close eye on market trends, competitor pricing, and demand shifts to minimize risk and capitalize on opportunities.
- Work with the presale specialist to determine presale dates, organize purchase tracking, and secure exclusive access codes.
- Adjust strategies on the fly when the market shifts—sometimes that means holding inventory, sometimes it means selling fast.
- Collaborate with the future sales manager to explore new long-term sales opportunities beyond day-to-day transactions.
Team Leadership, Training & Productivity
- Lead and support a remote team, making sure everyone is clear on goals and hitting targets.
- Train and onboard new team members, ensuring they understand inventory management processes, pricing strategies, and market dynamics.
- Use Google Sheets and Excel to track performance and keep operations running smoothly.
- Provide coaching and feedback, helping team members improve their decision-making and efficiency.
- Ensure seamless coordination across the buying team, pricing specialists, and presale operations.
Decision-Making in a Startup Environment
- This isn’t a job where you set a strategy once and forget it—you’ll be making constant adjustments based on data and trends.
- Prioritize tasks effectively, knowing when to act fast and when to wait for the right moment.
- Work closely with leadership to fine-tune pricing, streamline operations, and drive revenue growth.
- Be comfortable with ambiguity and problem-solving—we don’t have strict processes for everything, so you’ll help build and improve them as we grow.
Who You Are: This role is a great fit if you -
- Have worked in ticketing, inventory management, e-commerce, or a similar field where timing and pricing matter.
- Love data-driven decision-making and are comfortable making rapid calls based on numbers.
- Have experience managing teams, especially in a remote or hybrid setup.
- Know your way around Google Sheets, Excel, and pricing tools—or can pick them up quickly.
- Are comfortable in high-stakes environments where the right (or wrong) decision can impact revenue.
- Are adaptable and can adjust strategies on the fly without getting flustered.
- Prefer a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment over a large, corporate office.
- Once you’re up-and-running, can work without micromanagement—you take ownership of your work and find solutions independently.
Why Join Us?
- We’re a true startup. If you want a corporate office with layers of management, this isn’t it. But if you want to own your work and be part of a small team that moves fast, you’ll fit right in.
- Your decisions will have a direct impact. This isn’t a role where you’re just maintaining systems—you’ll be making calls that affect the bottom line every day.
- It’s a fast-moving, high-energy industry. If you like analyzing trends, predicting demand, and competing in a dynamic market, you’ll thrive here!
- You’ll lead a capable, experienced team. You won’t be micromanaging—your team knows what they’re doing. Your job is to keep them aligned and help them make better decisions.
- We’re growing, and you’ll grow with us. This is a high-impact role with room for expansion and bigger responsibilities over time.
