Who are we?

We're a fast growing early-stage startup providing a gamified SMS marketing platform to restaurants. Our founders have participated in a $21M exit and been through the Y Combinator S22 batch (YC is the world’s top startup accelerator, funding companies such as Reddit, AirBnB, Stripe, Podium, Weave, & DoorDash). Boostly recently raised a $22M Series A, led by PeakSpan Capital. This is not a remote position. This is an in-person role in our Lehi, Utah office.

What will you do?

The Head of Finance will be the financial architect of Boostly, responsible for financial planning, budgeting, accounting, investor reporting, and cash flow management. You’ll bring a mix of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, ensuring we optimize resources while preparing for future fundraising and scale.

  • Financial Strategy & Leadership: Partner with the CEO to develop and execute a financial strategy that supports aggressive growth, profitability, and long-term value creation. As time goes on, build and oversee a team.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Oversee the creation and management of annual budgets, multi-year financial forecasts, scenario planning, and cash flow projections to guide resource allocation and investment decisions.
  • Accounting & Reporting: Manage all accounting operations, including month-end close, financial statements, audits, and compliance with GAAP/IFRS standards. Deliver accurate, timely reports to leadership and investors.
  • KPI & Unit Economics Tracking: Develop dashboards to monitor key metrics, ensuring financial efficiency and growth. This will include interfacing with BI tools which require SQL proficiency.
  • Investor Relations: Work closely with the CEO to prepare investor updates, board decks, and key financial insights. Support fundraising efforts (e.g., Series B preparation) by building financial models and preparing due diligence materials.
  • Cash Management: Optimize cash flow, manage departmental cost tracking & efficiency, oversee banking relationships, and implement strategies to extend runway while balancing growth investments.
  • Operational Finance: Collaborate with department heads to align financial goals with operational plans, providing insights on pricing, cost control, and profitability drivers. Own cash flow management, customer billing, and accounts payable/receivable.
  • Systems & Processes: Establish scalable financial systems, tools, and processes to replace manual workflows and improve efficiency.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Ensure adherence to tax regulations, financial policies, and legal requirements while proactively identifying and mitigating financial risks.

What qualities are we looking for?

  • Experience: 7+ years in finance, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role at a high-growth startup or tech company (Series A/B experience preferred). Proven success scaling finance operations from $3M to $20M in annual revenue.
  • Technical Skills: Deep expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and accounting. Familiarity with SaaS metrics and venture-backed reporting requirements. Proficiency with tools like QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, or similar, plus advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills. Strong data analysis skills, including proficiency with SQL, python, and additional development skills will be required for various projects.
  • Strategic Mindset: Ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights and contribute to company-wide strategy as a member of the leadership team.
  • Hands-On Approach: Comfortable rolling up your sleeves to execute day-to-day tasks while building the function—whether it’s reconciling accounts or negotiating vendor contracts.
  • Startup Grit: Thrives in ambiguity, adapts quickly, and brings a problem-solving attitude to a dynamic, resource-constrained environment.
  • Communication: Exceptional ability to distill complex financial concepts for non-finance stakeholders, including the CEO, team leads, and investors.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field. CPA, MBA, or equivalent is a plus but not required.

What do we offer?

  • Healthcare Premium Contributions
  • Free Unlimited Mental Health & Telehealth
  • Team and company lunches and activities
  • Tons of learning and growth
