Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?
This position will be primarily responsible for the planning, design, and execution of strategic and operational cyber simulations (e.g., simulations, workshops, tabletops, functional exercises). The person in this role will coordinate internal subject matter experts to develop plausible cyber incident simulations informed by internally and externally researched risks and trends, turn those scenarios into well-documented plans, and lead simulations.

The ideal candidate for this position must be organized and able to create timelines, manage schedules, meet target deadlines, build relationships across the organization, maintain program documentation, and coordinate persons from multiple areas in preparation of the simulations. A core component of this role is to help build and strengthen The Travelers Fusion Center by providing proactive cross-collaboration, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to create value for Travelers in a multi-disciplined team environment.
What Will You Do?
  • Drive the design and implementation of cyber scenarios addressing organizational risks and regulatory requirements across all aspects of the enterprise.
  • Responsible and accountable for crafting detailed exercise materials including facilitation slides, scripts, injects, and participant guides with the help of cyber-SMEs.
  • Facilitate discussion during tabletop exercises to engage participants and gather insight for post-exercise analysis.
  • Responsible and accountable for developing after-action reports (AARs), capturing key findings, lessons learned, and corrective actions. Tracking corrective actions to completion.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the cyber incident simulation program by identifying opportunities for enhancement and working with key stakeholders to gain insight and feedback.
  • Responsible for the planning and coordination of exercises facilitated by external partners, as applicable.
  • Stay up to date on emerging cyber threats, exercise methodologies, and regulatory updates to ensure cyber exercises remain relevant and impactful.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams and communicate effectively to stakeholders will be integral to your success in this role.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external communities to facilitate information sharing.
  • Participate in exercises and training sessions to improve overall readiness and response capabilities.
  • Participate in cybersecurity and enterprise projects as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
  • Experience in all facets of the cybersecurity exercise lifecycle including, but not limited to; pre-exercise, exercise, and post-exercise materials.
  • Experience and/or deep understanding of Business Continuity and Cyber Resiliency practices and methodologies.
  • Experience and/or deep understanding of Technology Operations procedures, including Incident and Problem Management.
  • Document risks and findings discovered during exercises as well as track and drive remediations.
  • Experience in cybersecurity data analytics with an emphasis on drawing out insights from various Cybersecurity Operations data repositories.
  • Capable of working within an ambiguous and constantly changing environment.
  • Self-starter, able to find value-add activities and initiates without the need for direct oversight.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline preferred.

What is a Must Have?
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three years of work experience within Computer Science or a related field required.
