Are you a strategic HR leader passionate about driving organizational success and fostering a high-performance culture? Quality Management Group is seeking an innovative and dynamic Director of Human Resources to join our team during an exciting growth phase.

As the Director of HR, you will be a strategic business partner within our leadership team and report to the President. Leading a dedicated and experienced team of HR professionals you will shape our HR strategy, ensure compliance, and implement initiatives that support our mission and values. You will lead key performance objectives, which include strategic planning, enhanced recruitment efficiency, expanded training and field empowerment, continuing to foster a customer service-focused HR culture, integrating core values, and elevating employee engagement.

*This is a 100% on-site position with some local and occasional regional travel required (within CA) *

Key Performance Objectives (KPOs):

  • Develop a strategic plan and metrics.
  • Ensure full compliance with employment laws, focusing on California Wage and Hour.
  • Improve recruitment efficiency including reducing time to hire to 30 days or less and increasing offer acceptance rates.
  • Integrate core values into onboarding, training, and performance review processes across the organization.
  • Develop and deploy effective training programs for all managers/supervisors, leveraging AI and self-service query/training tools.
  • Maintain a customer service-focused HR culture and continuously improve support and services.
  • Boost employee engagement, morale, and retention with targeted initiatives.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Advise and coach business leaders on talent and organizational effectiveness.
  • Effectively manage an internal HR team through the next phase of growth. As needed, delegate projects to the respective owners while managing progress and productivity.
  • Lead and execute HR programs related to mergers, acquisitions, site expansions, and partnerships.
  • Collaborate with all departments and stakeholders in the recruitment, hiring, and training processes.
  • Administer HR programs, including compensation, benefits, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Conduct research and analysis of organizational trends and provide recommendations.
  • Develop and manage the HR department budget.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience; SHRM-CP or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Human Resources, with a minimum of 5-8 years of experience managing a team, demonstrating proficiency in leading and managing a team of employees.
  • Proficiency in overseeing or managing payroll for mid-to-large organizations.
  • Ability to assess and distinguish between urgent, important, and non-urgent tasks, continuously adapting priorities to align with evolving business needs, ensuring critical objectives are met efficiently and expeditiously.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership and negotiation skills with the ability to communicate concisely and effectively.
  • Persuasive communicator with the ability to influence others with logic, tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to think and work on both a strategic and tactical level; demonstrated ability to balance the need to complete essential daily functions while maintaining a high-level perspective to assess organizational needs, develop strategic solutions and drive department and organization-wide initiatives
  • Innovative, analytical and adaptable problem solver with a flexible mindset, capable of thinking creatively while ensuring alignment with the company and internal HR established guidelines, state and federal laws, and best business practices.
  • Exhibit a proactive, can-do attitude, taking initiative to do whatever it takes to complete tasks effectively while offering support to the HR team and colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS/Talent Management systems; experience in HRIS migrations highly desirable.
