Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President of EPC to lead and oversee the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction activities for our growing portfolio of solar energy projects. As a key member of the executive team, the VP of EPC will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of utility-scale solar projects from design through commissioning, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute the EPC strategy to support the company’s growth goals and ensure alignment with project development timelines and budgets.
- Provide leadership and direction to internal teams and external contractors, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
Project Management:
- Oversee the end-to-end management of all EPC activities, including engineering design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet performance and quality expectations.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and implement corrective actions as needed.
Team Development:
- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing EPC team, including engineering, procurement, and construction professionals.
- Promote continuous learning and professional development within the team.
Vendor and Contractor Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with equipment suppliers, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to achieve favorable terms and ensure compliance with company standards.
Risk Management and Compliance:
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with project execution, including technical, financial, and regulatory risks.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, codes, and industry best practices.
Cost Management and Optimization:
- Drive cost optimization initiatives by evaluating new technologies, streamlining processes, and improving operational efficiency.
- Monitor and control project budgets to achieve cost-saving objectives without compromising quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in EPC management, with a focus on utility-scale solar or renewable energy projects.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale solar projects on time and within budget.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide diverse teams.
- In-depth knowledge of solar technology, construction methodologies, and industry standards.
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
