The Director of the Office of Military and Veteran Programs will be charged with accomplishing the following key mission sets within the Enrollment Management Division
- Serve as the main point of contact to assist military affiliated students as well as to serve as a subject matter expert on Veterans Affairs Education Benefits and Department of Defense Tuition Assistance Programs (to include, but not limited to GI Bill, VR&E, ROTC, etc.)
- Support admissions efforts to recruit military-affiliated and veteran students
- Plan and lead on-campus programming for military and veteran student population
- Lead a cross functional university effort to maintain full compliance with Department of Defense and Veterans Affairs Tuition Assistance Programs
- Supervise the Military and Veteran Benefit Specialist/VA School Certifying Official
- Provide administrative and logistical support to Catholic University’s ROTC Programs (Army, Naval and Air Force). The Director will oversee Catholic University student’s performance within ROTC anddevelop strategies to improve overall success rate (as defined by # of students enrolled in program, who successfully commission and receive DoD scholarships)
- Provides comprehensive customer service to all constituents via in person, phone and email engagements
- Interacts with other university offices as necessary to provide quality customer service and referrals
- Ensures university maintains compliance with all DoD and VA requirements and that all university systems are in the best position to attract and retain military affiliated students
- Oversees processing of student tuition benefits and coordinates compliance efforts with the School Certifying Official
- Ensures accurate and timely administrative and logistical support to Catholic University’s 3x ROTC programs (Army, Naval and Air Force)
- Develops strategies to improve overall ROTC success rate (as defined by # of students enrolled in program, who successfully commission and receive DoD scholarships)
- Maintains a collaborative working environment with all team members
- Oversees response to external evaluations on military affiliated student services- to include The Military Times, Military Friendly Company, etc.
- Maintains working knowledge of policies and procedures in other university offices as they relate to the student experience.
- Provides general assistance to University Veterans Upward Bound Program as required
- Assist with fundraising for military affiliated student programing on campus
- Support all university initiatives on military affiliated student recruitment (at all degree levels)
- Serve as staff mentor to CUA Homefront Student Organization
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree
- Military experience and Master's degree preferred
- Knowledge of VAOnce, VA Enrollment Manager, and Department of Defense TA Platforms (GoArmyIgnitED, Navy College, etc.) preferred
