Position Overview

The Talent Acquisition Consultant will play a critical role in shaping and executing our organization’s recruitment strategy. This position is responsible for both directly recruiting and staffing a variety of roles and developing a best-practices framework to support frontline managers in interviewing and selecting top talent. In addition to sourcing and hiring, this role will create a structured, scalable recruiting process and a training program to equip hiring managers with the skills and tools needed to make strong hiring decisions. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with hands-on recruiting expertise who is passionate about optimizing the hiring process and elevating the candidate experience.

Essential Functions

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing, screening, and hiring top talent.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates to meet staffing needs.
  • Develop and implement structured hiring processes, interview guides, and selection tools.
  • Design and deliver training programs for hiring managers on interviewing and talent selection.
  • Ensure a seamless candidate experience, from application to onboarding.
  • Track and analyze recruitment metrics to optimize hiring strategies and decision-making.
  • Maintain compliance with hiring laws and organizational policies while supporting hiring teams.
  • Collaborate with leadership and HR to align recruitment strategies with workforce planning.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience: Required:

  • 3+ years of experience in talent acquisition, recruiting, or HR with direct involvement in hiring and process improvement.
  • Experience training and coaching hiring managers in recruitment best practices.
  • Proficiency with ATS platforms (preferably Paylocity) and recruiting tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Customer service mindset with the ability to create a positive candidate and hiring manager experience

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience with high-volume hiring and process standardization.
  • Understanding of HR compliance and employment law related to hiring.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Work Environment: This position will work primarily in a standard office environment at the Boys & Girls Club of San Leandro. This role may occasionally require flexibility to accommodate organizational events or deadlines. Key aspects of the work environment include:

  • Rarely required to stand.
  • Rarely required to walk.
  • Frequently required to sit.
  • Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
  • Rarely required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
  • Continually required to talk or hear.
  • Rarely exposure to outside weather conditions (visiting a site)
  • Occasionally exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials (Communicable diseases in an office environment including COVID-19, common cold, and flu viruses. Negative TB screen required).
  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 40 pounds (moving set up- booth, signage, etc.- for events).
