Western Governors University (WGU) is looking for an individual to participate as a Subject Matter Expert for our Domain Driven Design project. This position is 100% remote.

Subject Matter Experts provide valuable real-world knowledge and experience to the development of the courses we offer our students. This is a part-time/project-based position, where you would work with WGU as an Independent Contractor.

Subject Matter Experts MUST meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelors Degree (Required) or Master (preferred) in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer and Information Systems, Data Science, or Artificial Intelligence.
  • 2 years minimum in a software engineer/developer role with a Masters, 5 years minimum in a software engineer/developer role with a Bachelors.
  • 2 years instructional experience preferred.
  • Prefer experience as Lead (Microservices) Architect/Engineer or Software Architect.
  • Preferred certifications: Certified Professional for Software Architecture (CPSA) as related to DDD.

Project Information

Dates: 3/31 to 4/4

Application Deadline: 3/24

Location: Remote

Time commitment: Approximately 3 Hours.

Compensation: $75 per hour

Other compensation and benefits: This position is for an independent contractor and is not eligible for other compensation or benefits.

Scope of work: Determine if the course s content adequately prepares the student to complete the Assessment requirements. Determine if the rubric aspects are appropriate for the assessment and/or task requirements.

Meetings/Workshops: No specific meetings will be required. Meetings will be scheduled as needed or at the request of the SME.
