Position Overview

We are seeking an Associate or Senior Planner to join a growing Planning and GIS team. This role will lead the production of written technical reports, presentation materials, and other planning-related project deliverables. The successful candidate will report directly to the Planning Manager and have the opportunity to work on a wide range of planning, design, and permitting projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the production of presentation materials, technical reports, and other planning deliverables (e.g., master plans, neighborhood framework plans, etc.).
  • Develop and lead community engagement activities and data collection/analysis.
  • Manage project budgets and schedules.
  • Develop strategies to promote community and economic development, address housing challenges, promote efficient land use, improve streetscapes and mobility, and advance other community initiatives.
  • Collaborate with dynamic teams, including municipalities, developers, architects, landscape architects, engineers, contractors, and community organizations.
  • Interpret and apply relevant codes, ordinances, and regulations at local, county, and regional levels.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and fee estimates for potential projects.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members.
  • Represent the company at networking events, conferences, public meetings, and within the community.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of planning experience for Associate Planner or 6 years for Senior Planner.
  • Degree in urban or regional planning, urban studies, urban design, architecture, engineering, landscape architecture, geography, or a related field.
  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of planning methodology, research practices, and data collection.
  • Familiarity with municipal planning and zoning administration.
  • Knowledge of development processes, real estate finance, incentives, and public approval procedures is preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam Revu.
