Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design and documentation of mechanical systems and piping for various materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and HDPE piping. This role involves reviewing, developing, and managing specifications for valves, heat exchangers, tanks, pumps, pressure vessels, and specialty equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and document mechanical systems and piping for materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and HDPE piping.
  • Review, develop, and manage specifications for valves, heat exchangers, tanks, pumps, pressure vessels, and specialty equipment.
  • Perform basic piping design calculations for pressure, deflection, and support.
  • Utilize CAD drawing packages, including both 2D and 3D software.
  • Apply process engineering and design principles using Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Demonstrate pump design and application knowledge.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
  • Experience with design and AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of pressure vessels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, AutoCAD, Inventor, and CEASAR or similar analytical software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or the ability to obtain one within 12 months.
  • Previous experience within an engineering group.
  • Experience with construction and field assignments.

Work Environment

You will be working in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The company started in a small town and has grown into two offices, maintaining a family-oriented culture. All clients are repeat customers, reflecting the company's commitment to quality and strong client relationships.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $105000.00 - $125000.00/hr.
