The Opportunity: We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our client s team. This role involves designing, maintaining, and optimizing our enterprise network infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Cisco networking technologies, including SDA and ISE, as well as experience in a regulated enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, configure, and maintain enterprise networking hardware and software.
Monitor and manage firewalls, VPN services, and security appliances to protect business-critical systems.
Maintain and optimize complex switching and routing environments, ensuring secure access and seamless voice and video services.
Work closely with information security teams to implement and enhance network security measures.
Collaborate with engineering teams to automate processes and improve network architecture.
Develop and implement automated methods for network event mitigation and remediation.
Troubleshoot network incidents using logic-based critical thinking and diagnostic tools.
Assist with disaster recovery planning and execution.
Provide technical support for operational teams, ensuring rapid issue resolution and knowledge sharing.
Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Networking, Telecommunications, or related field (or four additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree).
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer supporting enterprise networks or large data centers.
Expertise in Layer 2 (LACP, 802.1x) and Layer 3 (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) protocols.
Strong experience with firewalls, packet inspection, and network security measures.
Proficiency in programming or scripting for automation.
Experience implementing network monitoring and alerting systems.
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification required.
Security+ or CISSP certification preferred.
Hands-on experience with Cisco SDA and Cisco ISE.
Familiarity with F5, wireless networking, and Palo Alto firewalls is a plus.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to work in a highly regulated environment (e.g., MICS, PCI compliance).
Strong documentation skills for technical systems and procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
