Position Overview

Corporate Partnerships and Engagement is seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Manager to manage all aspects of assigned projects and initiatives from original concept through completion for our partnership focused marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing marketing project plans, managing budgets, and ensuring all marketing materials projects designated by Scouting America are completed on time and meet quality requirements.

As the main point of contact for projects, this role demands a creative thinker who can manage multiple projects simultaneously while staying organized and maintaining a focus on deadlines. You will also develop and manage project and campaign workflows, analyze project performance and use data to inform future strategies, ensuring continuous improvement in our marketing approach. The role manages the integration of vendor tasks, tracks and reviews internal and external project team deliverables and recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and implements processes and methodologies to ensure projects and initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to quality standards and meet customer expectations.
  • Responsible for support and administration of all projects and initiatives. May oversee the work of vendors, contractors, consultants and other external personnel and resources related to the assigned project or initiative.
  • Monitors project scope, cost, schedule, and quality performance.
  • Builds project Work Breakdown Structures, project schedules, budgets, and identifies resources needed.
  • Compiles project documents such as charters, scope statements, budgets, project return on investment (ROI) reports, status reports, etc.
  • Responsible for professional analysis and reports on project performance to the project team, owners, sponsors, and management. Anticipates, reports and resolves a range of straightforward problems.
  • Works collaboratively to investigate alternative solutions and determines the best course of action. Develops a project plan and secures agreement of project team and key stakeholders.
  • Defines business problems or needs, project requirements, and deliverables for medium to large projects.
  • Supports corporate engagement and integrated media and advertising sales associates and leadership in client recruitment and retention efforts and the execution of events by attending meetings and traveling as needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Competencies

  • Knowledge of: Project planning tools. Project methodologies and the principles, methods, and practices of project management. Contract policies and procedures.
  • Skill in: Business acumen and strategic thinking to complement strong tactical execution skills. Presenting ideas, collaborating effectively, and influencing all levels of the organization. Exercising sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy. Resolving conflicts and difficult situations. Communicating in oral or written format to a variety of audiences, including public presentations.
  • Ability to: Perform all facets of projects with little or no supervision; quickly and successfully embrace change and respond effectively.

Education

Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited college or university.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of project management experience, working independently in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Must pass a criminal history background check.
  • Familiarity or experience with Scouting, its mission and values, and relevant programs and events.
  • Ability to travel for business meetings and events to support client recruitment and retention efforts and to support load-in and load-out of exhibitors and to provide regular onsite support to partners, which could include but not be limited to managing and executing the delivery of boxes and heavy items.

Physical Requirements

  • Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms, and other printed materials and information.
  • Hearing acuity for verbal communication, conversations, face-to-face interactions, and/or responses via telephone and telephone systems.
  • Speaking ability for general communication and ability to clearly enunciate in conversations with others.
  • Ability to travel for business meetings and events to support client recruitment and retention efforts and to support load-in and load-out of exhibitors and to provide regular onsite support to partners, which could include but not be limited to managing and executing the delivery of boxes and heavy items.

This is primarily a sedentary office classification although standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Positions in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Licenses

Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
