Roles & Responsibilities
Analyze AWS cost and usage data across different business units and teams to identify spending patterns, cost anomalies, and areas for optimization.
Work closely with engineering, DevOps, cloud operations, and finance teams to implement cost allocation strategies, tagging policies, and chargeback models.
Develop and maintain AWS cost dashboards and reports using AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Cost and Usage Reports (CUR), and third-party FinOps tools to improve cost visibility.
Provide recommendations for AWS cost optimization, including rightsizing, savings plans, reserved instances, spot instances, and storage lifecycle policies.
Establish FinOps best practices, including budget governance, anomaly detection mechanisms, and cost accountability frameworks.
Coordinate with various teams utilizing AWS resources to ensure alignment with budget constraints and cloud financial strategies.
Implement and refine cost allocation methodologies to accurately track AWS expenses at departmental, project, and workload levels.
Conduct cost-benefit analysis of cloud service adoption, ensuring alignment with business and IT financial goals.
Monitor and report on AWS credits, discounts, enterprise agreements, and reserved capacity purchases to maximize cost efficiency.
Support capacity planning and forecasting efforts, providing insights for financial planning and cloud budgeting decisions.
Develop and automate cost optimization workflows using AWS Lambda, AWS Budgets, AWS Cost Anomaly Detection, and AWS Cost Categories.
Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure cost governance aligns with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to refine cloud financial management strategies and enhance overall cost governance
