  • Serves as the Supervisor of the IT Branch, supervising a team of specialists performing Systems Administration and the delivery of Information Technology.
  • Formulates and publishes technical guidance and standard operating procedures for IT specialists; and ensures that supplies, equipment and other materials are available.
  • Provides ongoing optimization and problem solving support to minimize interruptions in customers' ability to carry out critical business activities.
  • Provides advice and guidance to managers and customers on a wide variety of applications, operating systems, protocols, and equipment used in providing information technology customer support services.
  • Defines organizational objectives and specific goals, plans short-range and long-range work to be accomplished, and adjusts long-range schedules, objectives, and goals in relation to the workload, personnel required, and priorities.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will possess the following:
  • a Master's degree with a major study (minimum of twenty-four (24) semester hours) in any of the below fields:
    • computer science,
    • engineering,
    • information science,
    • information systems management,
    • mathematics,
    • operations research,
    • statistics,
    • technology management
OR
  • possess two (2) full years (60 semester hours) of progressively higher level graduate education leading towards a masters degree with at least twenty-four (24) semester hours in one or more of the following fields:
    • computer science,
    • engineering,
    • information science,
    • information systems
    • management,
    • mathematics,
    • operations research,
    • statistics,
    • technology management
OR
  • possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience in system installation and programming experience sufficient to demonstrate knowledge in the following:
    • Information Technology (IT) theories, principles, concepts, standards, and methods; AND
    • IT policy and planning concepts and practices; AND
    • interrelationships of multiple IT disciplines; AND
    • methods, approaches, and practices for managing communities of interest involved in development, AND
    • implementation of IT architectures, investment planning, e-government, and other IT related legislative and policy initiatives.

  • Incentives will NOT be paid.
Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will NOT be paid.
    • Pay-band employees in pay levels NF-3 and above are entitled to receive nonforeign area allowances and differentials in the same amounts and under the same eligibility criteria prescribed for Appropriated Fund employees in the same locality.
