The Senior Analyst Will
- Demonstrate expertise on all companies within the Metals & Mining sector, as well as related competitors, customers, suppliers, and any other relevant stakeholders
- Conduct and author research company and industry themes, trends, events, etc.
- Create and maintain company and industry models, financial statement projections, relevant databases and other quantitative foundations to the research process
- Attend company and industry events, cultivate relationships with covered and uncovered companies, and develop a network of industry contacts
- Communicate research conclusions with internal and external constituents
- Exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- Lead a team of Research Analysts to execute research content
- Collaborate with internal team members to produce cross-sector and industry research content
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of Securities Research experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of management or leadership experience
- BS/BA or higher
- Direct sell-side experience of 10+ years covering Metals & Mining stocks
- 5+ years as lead analyst
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are critical
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including high level of proficiency in modeling
- Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
- Strong writing skills and attention to detail
- Advanced understanding of financial statement analysis
- Advanced understanding of accounting principles in the capital markets industry
- Knowledge and understanding of investment tools such as Bloomberg or FactSet application
- Strong, clear and concise oral communication skills
- Up to 20% travel
