Job Description
Under the direction of the Assistant Director for Business Engagement and Administration, the HR Administrator will independently manage a broad range of workforce planning activities and human resources transactions for the Department of Information Technology. This role will collaborate with Admin, Finance, and HR teams to support workforce initiatives that strengthen the IT organization and enhance the employee experience. This role will focus on operational execution, workforce planning, and administrative support, ensuring department goals are met effectively. The HR Administrator will liaise with department leaders and IT s HR Business Partner to initiate, track, and follow through on employee actions, employee relations, talent management, retention, recruitment, dynamic work mode, space/hoteling, and wellness programs. This is a temporary contract role expected to last from spring 2025 to fall 2025.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as a resource for directors, managers, and staff throughout IT and in that context, partners with HR to monitor IT s talent management efforts and execute HR transactions in support of department priorities.
  • Carries out high level projects and/or initiatives such as implementing rewards and recognition programming, establishing unified onboarding procedures, and aligning IT hiring processes and documentation efforts.
  • Work with financial administrators and other staff to monitor personnel budgets.
  • Negotiates and problem solves with external vendors and liaises with the university s managed services program to coordinate hiring and extensions of contingent workers.
  • As part of IT Administration team, provides support for department meetings and events as needed, including on-site logistics, coordination of supplies, and catering.
  • Coordinate IT s hiring and onboarding processes in partnership with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition staff, ensuring smooth transitions for new hires.
  • Perform workforce analysis to align future plans with, staff skillsets and space needs.
  • Provide program related metrics and reports to aid in decision-making.
  • Draft communications, reports and/or presentations.
  • Provide relevant training to clients/staff.
  • Ensure compliance with University Human Resources policies, procedures, and requirements and applicable legal regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive administrative management

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Higher Ed experience preferred
  • Project/program management experience preferred
  • Demonstrated collaboration and communication abilities
  • This role requires adaptability and the ability to step in to support evolving administrative needs within the department.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
