Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced L2 Database Administrator to join our project. The ideal candidate will have experience in compliance, configuration, change, and event management, as well as provisioning and server management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage compliance, configuration, change, and event management related to database administration.
- Perform server provisioning and management activities.
- Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
- Ensure adherence to IT security and compliance policies, including SOx and NIST/DFARS.
- Apply patches, updates, and security fixes to database environments as per compliance requirements.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database-related performance issues and implement necessary optimizations.
- Ensure high availability of database services through clustering and replication.
- Conduct root password maintenance and enforce security compliance.
- Collaborate with internal teams to implement change management best practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, compliance tasks, and server modifications.
Technical Skills:
- Experience administering databases on Windows Server, Linux (Red Hat Enterprise, Oracle Linux, SUSE SLES), IBM AIX, HP-UX, and VMware ESXi.
- Expertise in high availability components such as HP ServiceGuard, Linux clustering (Red Hat, Oracle), Windows clustering, and VMRM.
- Hands-on experience with middleware such as IIS, Apache HTTP Server, WebSphere, WebLogic, and Oracle Forms/Reports.
- Proficiency in SOx compliance, control performance, and security patching.
- Knowledge of automated discovery tools and CMDB updates.
- Strong experience in change management, backup and recovery procedures, and disaster recovery planning.
- Ability to configure, maintain, and deploy antivirus and security compliance tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5 to 7+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.
- Experience with ITAR compliance and background check requirements.
- Strong understanding of compliance and security standards such as NIST, DFARS, and SOx.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in database administration (e.g., Oracle DBA, Microsoft SQL Server, or equivalent).
- Experience in a high-security or government-compliant environment.
- Knowledge of scripting and automation tools for database management.
The pay range for this role is $80,000 - $90,000 per annum including any bonuses or variable pay.
