Position: IAM ( Identity Access Management ) Project- Manager

Location: Schaumburg , IL

Duration: 6 Months

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) implementations and operations, ensuring compliance with security standards and organizational goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IAM tools, techniques, and strategies, along with experience managing IT projects in the context of mergers and acquisitions (M&A). This role will oversee IAM system design, implementation, and governance while integrating IAM solutions during M&A activities to ensure a smooth transition of user access and identity management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning and Execution:

o Develop comprehensive project plans for IAM implementations, including scope definition, timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables.

o Manage project budgets, track progress against milestones, and identify potential risks and mitigation strategies.

o Coordinate with cross-functional teams including IT, security, HR, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

o Oversee the integration of IAM solutions during mergers and acquisitions, ensuring that user access, identity management, and security policies align across organizations.

2. IAM Design and Implementation:

o Define IAM architecture, including user provisioning, access control mechanisms, single sign-on (SSO), and privileged access management (PAM) strategies.

3. Compliance and Security:

o Ensure adherence to relevant security standards and regulations like GDPR, HIPAA, and SOX regarding data privacy and access control.

o Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential vulnerabilities within the IAM system.

o Monitor IAM activity logs and investigate suspicious access attempts to maintain security posture.

o Work closely with the security teams during M&A integrations to assess risk and ensure IAM systems comply with both organizations' security policies.

4. Stakeholder Management:

o Communicate project status updates to key stakeholders, including senior management, business owners, and technical teams.

o Facilitate collaboration between different departments to address IAM challenges and ensure smooth project execution.

o Manage user expectations regarding IAM changes and provide effective training on new access controls.

o Collaborate with legal, HR, and business teams to define and enforce IAM governance during M&A transitions.

5. Merger and Acquisition (M&A) Integration:

o Lead and manage IAM-related projects during mergers, acquisitions, and organizational transitions, ensuring smooth integration of IAM systems, tools, and processes.

o Identify potential IAM-related challenges during M&A, such as integrating disparate IAM solutions, aligning security policies, and streamlining access controls.

o Coordinate the migration of user data, accounts, and permissions between merged or acquired companies to ensure a seamless transition.

o Develop and execute plans for consolidating or merging identity management solutions and systems to standardize IAM processes across the organization.

o Work with project teams to mitigate the impact of M&A changes on user access, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and compliance.

Required Skills and Experience:

1. Technical Expertise:

o Strong understanding of IAM concepts such as identity lifecycle management, access control models, authentication methods, and authorization policies.

o Familiarity with various IAM tools and technologies like Okta, Ping Identity, Active Directory, Azure AD, and others.

o Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and integration.

o Proven experience in integrating IAM systems and tools during M&A activities.

2. Project Management Skills:

o Proven experience in managing complex IT projects from initiation to closure, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.

o Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).

o Experience managing IAM integrations and changes in the context of M&A transitions.

3. Communication and Collaboration:

o Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
