POSITION SUMMARY

Vice President of Material & Production Control & Planning to assume full responsibility for the company’s material activities related to production control in the shop, as well as full responsibility for planning. This will include all high-level planning and shop planning and directing the effective movement of parts through the shop.

This position will work closely with other leaders and functions, including the Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Customer Service and the Vice President of Quality & Engineering and the heads of Finance (to confirm the right parts are being utilized). The position supervises approximately 20 people and reports to the Chief Operating Officer of CTS Engines.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

Manage the day-to-day and high-level material planning for the company to drive performance and meet objectives.

Direct Gate 2 in the Overhaul Process – Material Flow. Gate 2 includes In-House Repair, Outside Services (OSS), Marshalling, and Rotable long-lead repairs.

Ensure effective and efficient movement of parts through the Engine Shop.

Direct all shop planning and high-level planning.

Manage Used Serviceable Material (USM) availability and market conditions

Broker packages with USM suppliers and partners to lower costs for CTS

Work closely with Engineering to confirm the right parts are being used.

Ensure all policies and procedures are followed and employees are committed to a culture that values safety.

Partner with all departments to impact culture and clearly execute the business plan.

Develop, approve and implement policies and procedures to meet production schedules.

Approve and direct improvements in production methods, quality, equipment, operating efficiency and working conditions.

Direct supervision / lead personnel to ensure proper staffing, training, development, motivation, ongoing productivity and safety.

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures including interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Present progress reports within management team to ensure ongoing improvements are attained for product quality and overall business unit growth, and investigate and resolve causes of inefficiencies.

Support and ensure compliance to FARs and other applicable regulations.

Ensure that corrective actions resulting from internal or external audit findings are carried out.

Lead Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives to drive efficiencies and growth.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education:

A Bachelor’s degree (B. Sc.) or equivalent from a University or technical school is preferred, with extensive experience possibly substituting for education.

Experience:

This position requires a strong background in Engine Shop management in an Airline or production facility of a similar or greater size, preferably at least ten years, with at least five to eight years in management directly or indirectly in an Engine Shop or similar environment preferred.

Experience in use of an ERP platform, preferably Quantum.

Advanced computer skills to include MS Excel, Word and Power Point.

Experienced and skilled at supporting and interacting with customers to ensure timely and highly effective customer support and success.

Excellent background in handling challenging customer and personnel problems.

Proven ability to mediate, negotiate and reach resolution with various matters.

In-depth experience in production control, planning, schedules, productivity and management issues in an Engine Shop or similar / related organization.

Increasing levels of responsibility in an Engine Shop or similar / related organization.

Employee management, labor relations and employee relations knowledge is considered a strong positive.

Outstanding leadership experience, resulting in an excellent ability to communicate and direct a Customer-focused, highly responsive organization.
