Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Development Manager - SRE/DevOps for a Direct Placement assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in Jersey City, NJ.
Responsibilities:
As a Development Manager, you will drive, design, PoC critical core components while acting as a trusted advisor to the senior management team and lead architect. You will make clear, simple, and technically sound decisions and champion high standards of coding and architecture best practices. You will have a focus on what is best for our user experience in all your decision making, in particular you have a passion for reliability and usability of our systems and care for our user base of onboarding analysts, sales, direct-clients and traders. Not only will you need the technical expertise to take on and provide technical leadership for major projects, but also you will need to manage a team of engineers. You will be required to lead from the front, demonstrating best practices and high engineer standards directly through your work and in the way you lead the team of engineers. You will need to mentor the team of senior developers and ensure they in turn mentor and lead the junior talent within the team, ensuring we have a clear pipeline of talent to promote within the organization. As Development Manager you will manage your project goals, contribute to product strategy and work closely with the product owner and lead architect on a number of challenging initiatives. We expect you to be passionate about architecture, CI/CD, Agile delivery, Devops and site reliability.

- Transaction Testing End to End Solution offers technical capabilities at scale that will improve transaction testing process and enable larger sample testing at increased frequency utilizing modernized and optimized technical infrastructure
- Technology is focused on improving the data architecture and how data is managed front-to-back through placing more controls on SOR data, ensuring complete lineage, mapping of data to end-points, testing our results and simplifying through application migrations
- Responsible for systems architecture for several core components and services
- Responsible for all infrastructure and yearly capacity planning exercises.
- Strong experience in CI/CD pipelines
- Lead a team of SRE engineering responsible for the monitoring, reliability, and health of the platform
- Works with development teams to review technical design and conduct architecture reviews
- Oversee the platform, day to day requests, long term projects, and strategy of the team
- Continually enhance the team's performance by eliminating Toil through automation.
- Eliminate waste in the SDLC process.
- Ensure your platform is fully compliant to Firm's compliance, security, and audit policies
- Ensure system stability through enhancement/maintenance periods
Required Skills:
- Master's degree in computer science/engineering/mathematics
- Exceptional candidates with excellent track records are also accepted Experience with Function as a Service platform.
- Proven experience working through the full product cycle from initial design to the final product
- Experience building streaming data architectures
- Experience with designing and deploying container-based services
- Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and Devops engineering
- Ability to engage and work closely with stakeholders from partner technology, business, and operations
- Ability to develop good working relationships with peer groups and management
- Ability to distribute / allocate work within the team depending on project complexity and resource availability
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities efficiently
- Ability to work with minimum of supervision and deliver work on target
- Strong communication skills. Articulate in both written and verbal communication
- Good negotiation skills and an accomplished solution provider and problem solver
- Experience on Agile Methodology
