Position: Data Scientist with HL7
Location: South Dakota
Duration: Longterm - 12 + Months (possibly extend up to 4 years)
Roles & Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain data transmission feed to CDC using message mapping guides.
Develop and maintain metadata for systems and datasets, including data dictionaries and data element/variable change documentation
Assist in identifying solutions for information access, such as data repositories, visual display of information for data quality review and decision-making, and concerns related to legal, confidential, and security of data collection, storage, and access
Apply informatics principles and standards to projects and systems, where relevant standards exist
Ensure communication with system and data users within the department of health and externally with CDC and CSTE
Minimum Qualifications:
bachelor s degree in data science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
Knowledge of coding standards, such as HL7, LOINC, SNOMED,ICD-10, CPT, and other clinical or message coding
Experience with PowerBI
Experience with SQL, Python, or other scripting languages
Proficient use of Microsoft Office tools
Two years experience working in a public health setting
