We’re hiring in Deer Park, TX for a Mechanical Engineering position. The successful candidate will handle activities for all phases of mechanical design. The ideal candidate will have 3D modeling/2D drafting experience, be able to utilize client specifications, and have or will be actively working towards obtaining their PE license.

Responsibilities:

  • Will produce pressure vessel design utilizing ASME BPVC and end user standards.
  • Provide Mechanical Engineering Support for NBIC re-rates, alterations, repairs, and design of new pressure vessels and piping systems.
  • Develop engineering calculation packages and construction drawings for vessels and other fixed equipment, including boilers, piping, tanks, exchangers, etc. in accordance with all applicable codes and standards (ASME, TEMA, NBIC, API, Jurisdictional requirements).
  • Will ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Will provide general engineering support for field services provided by UPSIS.
  • Experience with engineering and design of API 650 storage tanks preferred.
  • Experience with pipe stress analysis preferred.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis preferred.
  • Needs to be familiar with bolting techniques and will provide field support for fastened connections.
  • Should have general knowledge of standard NDE techniques and applications.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field of study.
  • Registered as an EIT with the Texas Board of Professional Engineers. EIT’s approaching PE licensure is a plus.
  • 8+ years of industry experience in fixed equipment design/fabrication, repairs and alterations.
  • Experience/knowledge of inspection of vessels, tanks, and piping.
  • Must have knowledge of ASME BPVC Section 8 Div. 1, and ASME B31.3.
  • Must be proficient with pressure vessel design software (Codeware COMPRESS preferred).
  • Must have drafting experience and be able to produce drawings.
  • Desirable to have pipe stress analysis experience.
  • Desirable to have experience with ASME BPVC Section 8 Div. 2.
  • Desirable to have experience with API Standards.
  • Desirable to have knowledge of working with point cloud data.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels within the organization.
  • Attention to detail is a must to ensure a high quality is maintained.
  • Must be able to pass drug screen and background check.
