We are seeking a highly skilled Java-SQL Developer to join our dynamic team! This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced developer with expertise in Java and Oracle SQL to contribute to the modernization of our application stack. As a key player in our development efforts, you'll work on migrating SQL-based business logic to Java-based applications and integrating complex databases. This position requires a unique blend of Java and SQL proficiency to deliver seamless and scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Oracle SQL procedures, functions, and packages.
- Perform database performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization to ensure peak system performance.
- Design, build, and maintain Java applications with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Migrate complex SQL-based business logic to Java applications, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
- Integrate Oracle databases with Java applications, ensuring seamless data flow and functionality.
- Analyze and refactor intricate PL/SQL code into efficient Java applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create scalable and efficient solutions for both database and application systems.
- Contribute to application modernization initiatives, applying best practices in software development.
- Participate in code reviews, implement coding standards, and suggest improvements for better efficiency.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 6 to 8 years of proven experience in software development, with a primary focus on SQL and Java.
- Expertise in Oracle SQL, including writing complex stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Hands-on experience with database optimization, indexing strategies, and query performance tuning.
- Strong Java development skills, with experience in Java frameworks such as Spring Boot.
- Experience developing Java applications and migrating SQL logic to Java-based solutions.
- Ability to dissect and refactor complex PL/SQL transformation logic into efficient Java applications.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and database design principles.
- Experience working with version control systems like Git.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to thrive in a remote work environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) or healthcare industry.
- Familiarity with cloud-based databases and modern application architectures.
