RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead/Senior Engineer to oversee the management, optimization, and security of our Active Directory (AD), Exchange Server, and Azure Cloud environments. As a Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers, driving technical projects, and providing strategic direction on cloud and on-premises infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with AD, Exchange, and Azure services, a deep understanding of security practices, and a proven track record in leading large-scale migrations and system integrations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Management:
    • Lead and mentor a team of engineers responsible for the administration and management of AD, Exchange, and Azure Cloud environments.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to engineers ensuring the team follows best practices for system administration, security, and cloud operations.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure, security, and application teams, to ensure alignment of cloud and on-premises environments with business goals.
    • Drive the recruitment, training, and professional development of team members to foster a high-performance engineering culture.
    • Understanding of server build and validation process
  • Active Directory Management:
    • Oversee and manage the entire Active Directory infrastructure, including the configuration of domain controllers, replication, security policies, and group policies.
    • Lead initiatives to design and implement Active Directory migrations, upgrades, and optimizations across on-premises and hybrid environments.
    • Ensure the health, security, and reliability of AD environments, resolving complex AD-related issues and performance bottlenecks.
  • Exchange Server & Exchange Online Management:
    • Lead the management of Exchange Server (on-premises, hybrid, and Exchange Online) environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.
    • Manage high availability and disaster recovery strategies for Exchange environments, including backup, restore, and mail flow monitoring.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve complex mail-related issues.
  • Azure Cloud Management:
    • Lead the management and optimization of Azure Active Directory (AAD), including user authentication, role-based access control (RBAC), identity governance.
    • Oversee the administration of Azure infrastructure (e.g., Azure VMs, networking, storage, Azure App Services), ensuring alignment with business needs and industry standards.
    • Drive the implementation and automation of cloud-native services in Azure, ensuring that the environment is scalable, cost-effective, and secure.
    • Lead cloud migration projects, ensuring smooth integration between on-premises systems and Azure-based services.
    • Strong knowledge of CIS Compliance for servers and Azure policies related to CIS compliance.
  • Security & Compliance:
    • Lead the implementation and enforcement of security policies and best practices across AD, Exchange, and Azure environments to ensure regulatory compliance and data protection.
    • Oversee identity management, multi-factor authentication (MFA), conditional access, and other security measures to safeguard access to enterprise applications.
    • Identify and address vulnerabilities, ensuring continuous compliance with industry standards and regulations.
    • Regular follow-up/escalation on aging tickets for any long-standing incidents to be closed on timely manner
  • Strategic Planning & Technical Leadership:
    • Lead strategic initiatives to design and implement infrastructure improvements, cloud optimization, and new technology adoption.
    • Drive best practices for system automation, disaster recovery, and incident management, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
    • Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, security protocols, and operational procedures.
    • Good understanding of server build and validation process
  • Reporting:
    • Lead and oversee complex technical projects, including system migrations, upgrades, and integrations, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
    • Provide regular updates to senior management on the status of ongoing projects, technical challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Perform daily health checks (including SOD violations) and share status in daily stand up s.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in Active Directory architecture, management, and security, including GPOs, DNS and AD replication.
  • Expertise with Exchange Server (on-premises and hybrid) and Exchange Online.
  • Knowledge of Azure Active Directory (AAD), Azure infrastructure, and Microsoft 365 services.
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale cloud migrations and manage hybrid infrastructures.
  • Strong experience in cloud security practices, including MFA, RBAC, identity protection, and data encryption.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation for managing AD, Exchange, and Azure environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and provide executive-level reporting.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving complex infrastructure and cloud-based issues.
  • Leadership experience, including managing and mentoring a technical team and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in server build and validation, TLS vulnerability management, and CIS compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:.

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect, or similar certifications.
  • Experience with third-party monitoring tools for AD, Exchange, and Azure environments.
  • Familiarity with Office 365 administration, including Exchange and Azure.
  • Experience with automation tools like Azure Automation, PowerShell.
  • Experience in designing and implementing disaster recovery and high availability solutions for cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Understanding of identity and access management principles in cloud environments.
