Position Description

We are seeking a full-time Utility Research Coordinator to join our collaborative data team. In this role, you will be responsible for completing well-defined tasks including utility research, outreach to utilities and cities to obtain data.

This position is remote with occasional travel for team off-sites and client visits.

Primary Functions:

  • Research utility operations, public works assets, and asset management plans
  • Communicate directly with public works offices and utility asset owners by email and phone
  • Interpret maps, as-built drawings, and engineering plans at a basic level
  • Track communications in internal applications
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders about progress of requests and digitization

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to spend significant time communicating with external entities/organizations
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated, ability to operate independently working remotely

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • Experience with reading utility maps, as-built drawings, and engineering plans at a basic level
  • Experience working with utilities and/or government agencies
  • Experience researching and working with open source data
