Supply Chain Specialist
Job Description:
The Mid-Level Sourcing Specialist will work closely with assigned Sourcing Managers and product segments, acting as the local owner for designated commodities. This role is responsible for executing strategies that align with business objectives for the assigned commodities, including managing the Cost of Bill of Materials, Target Costing, and Should-Be Costing activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute local sourcing strategies that deliver a competitive advantage and drive strategic supplier initiatives. This includes selecting, developing, and consolidating suppliers to optimize sourcing and improve overall supplier performance.
- Manage sourcing execution for assigned commodities and suppliers, with full accountability for purchasing decisions and meeting deflation targets.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis of components and manufacturing processes to ensure the best quality solutions at the most cost-effective prices.
- Monitor supplier quality and delivery performance, developing improvement strategies to meet business needs.
- Collaborate with local business stakeholders to ensure sourced materials and services meet operational requirements.
- Drive process improvements related to sourcing, including managing escalations for delivery or quality issues, invoicing/payables concerns, and database management.
Direct Sourcing Responsibilities:
- Lead sourcing strategic initiatives to drive optimal cost, productivity, fulfillment, and obsolescence life-cycle management, leveraging standardization and the latest industry best practices.
- Build strong relationships with strategic suppliers, driving early supplier engagement in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, and fostering long-term partnerships throughout the product lifecycle.
Indirect Sourcing Responsibilities:
- Influence business productivity metrics related to indirect sourcing, ensuring accuracy and identifying opportunities for cost reduction, operating efficiency improvements, and productivity gains, including leading initiatives within the P&L.
- Implement process improvements through digitization and simplification, including employee communication, policy recommendations, and spend control dashboards.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, or 5 years of relevant experience in the assigned commodity.
- At least 3 years of technical knowledge and work experience in the assigned commodities.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Commercial Sourcing or Supply Chain management.
