The Role
The Digital Imaging Specialist is responsible for operating and maintaining the Indigo Digital Press, along with supporting operations on the GM narrow web finishing line, shrink sleeve seamer, and Fuji Final Proof equipment. During downtime, the Specialist may also assist with Color Proofing and Mock-Up tasks. This role involves routine maintenance of the equipment, management of supplies, and collaboration to successfully complete digital printing projects. The Specialist participates in setting individual goals and action plans with their supervisor.

The Role
The Digital Imaging Specialist is responsible for operating and maintaining the Indigo Digital Press, along with supporting operations on the GM narrow web finishing line, shrink sleeve seamer, and Fuji Final Proof equipment. During downtime, the Specialist may also assist with Color Proofing and Mock-Up tasks. This role involves routine maintenance of the equipment, management of supplies, and collaboration to successfully complete digital printing projects. The Specialist participates in setting individual goals and action plans with their supervisor.
Core Responsibilities
- Operate the Indigo Digital Press, GM narrow web finishing line, and shrink sleeve seamer effectively
- Perform routine maintenance, manage inventory, and order necessary materials
- Accurately interpret and follow job tickets
- Troubleshoot digital printing challenges independently
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including environmental controls (AC and humidity)
- Maintain updated resource lists of external vendors and services
- Embrace and communicate the company's mission, vision, and workflow
- Expertise in handling and printing on various substrates
- Strong proficiency in operating the Indigo press
- Knowledge of packaging finishing processes related to the Indigo
- Basic understanding of prepress processes specific to Indigo projects
- HP Indigo certification in operations and shared maintenance is preferred
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office and project management software
- Strong team player capable of collaborating effectively with colleagues across departments
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks
- Positive attitude with an understanding of studio culture
- Customer-focused, consistently aiming to deliver high-quality products
- Effective communicator with both internal teams and external vendors
- Capable of performing well under pressure and within a fast-paced environment
- Committed to continuous learning and self-improvement
- Knowledge of the packaging industry
- Minimum of 5 years of experience operating an Indigo Press; familiarity with Indigo web presses is beneficial
- Practical knowledge of Indigo press maintenance
