We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with a strong background in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and optimizing Oracle databases in on-premises and OCI environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities
  • Database Installation and Configuration:
  • Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle Database (versions 12c, 19c, and later) on both on-premises and OCI platforms.
  • Database Administration:
  • Manage database environments, including patching, backups, recovery, and performance tuning.
  • OCI Deployment and Administration:
  • Set up and maintain Oracle Database services on OCI, including Autonomous Database, Exadata Cloud Customer, and Compute instances.
  • High Availability and Disaster Recovery:
  • Implement and manage Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and backup solutions to ensure data availability and resilience.
  • Performance Tuning:
  • Diagnose and resolve performance issues using tools like AWR, ADDM, and SQL tuning best practices.
  • Security and Compliance:
  • Implement database security policies, including encryption, auditing, and user access controls. Ensure compliance with relevant standards like GDPR and PCI DSS.
  • Database Migration:
  • Lead database migration projects, including migrating on-premises databases to OCI using tools like RMAN, Data Pump, and GoldenGate.
  • Automation and Scripting:
  • Develop and maintain scripts for automation tasks using Python, Shell scripting, or OCI SDKs.
  • Monitoring and Alerts:
  • Set up database and infrastructure monitoring using tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and OCI Monitoring.
  • Capacity Planning and Scaling:
  • Conduct capacity planning and ensure optimal resource utilization in both on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with application development, infrastructure, and security teams to meet organizational goals.
  • Cloud Networking:
  • Configure OCI networking components like VCNs, subnets, gateways, and VPNs to support database connectivity.
  • Incident Management:
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues promptly, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Documentation:
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and best practices.
  • Stay Updated:
  • Keep up with the latest Oracle and OCI features, updates, and trends to improve database management and optimization.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA, with at least 2-5 years working with OCI.
  • Expertise in Oracle Database versions (12c, 19c, and newer).
  • Proficiency in OCI services (Autonomous Database, Exadata, Object Storage, Networking).
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and database scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with Data Guard, RAC, and Goldengate.
  • Familiarity with OCI CLI, Terraform, or other cloud automation tools.
  • Solid understanding of database security and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Certifications
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Oracle Database.
  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Associate/Professional.
  • Oracle Certified Specialist Autonomous Database.
