Job Description

We are seeking a R (Radio Equipment) Engineer with Drone Flying Experience to support the deployment, testing, and maintenance of advanced radio and wireless communication systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in RF engineering, signal processing, and drone operations for aerial data collection, network analysis, and field inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Design, test, and optimize radio frequency (RF) equipment and wireless communication systems.
  • Conduct aerial surveys using drones to analyze signal propagation, interference, and coverage.
  • Configure, calibrate, and maintain RF test equipment, including spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
  • Perform drone-based inspections of antennas, towers, and wireless networks.
  • Collect and analyze RF data from UAV flights for network performance and optimization.
  • Work with teams to improve 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi, and other wireless technologies.
  • Troubleshoot RF performance issues, including signal attenuation, interference, and multipath effects.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA/UAV regulations and RF licensing requirements.
  • Automate data collection and reporting processes using Python, MATLAB, or similar tools.
  • Collaborate with software engineers and network teams to enhance drone-based RF analysis solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in RF engineering, wireless communications, or network optimization.
  • Certified drone pilot with hands-on experience in operating UAVs for aerial RF surveys.
  • Strong knowledge of radio wave propagation, antenna theory, and spectrum analysis.
  • Proficiency with RF measurement tools (e.g., spectrum analyzers, network analyzers).
  • Experience with wireless protocols (5G, LTE, Wi-Fi, LoRa, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Python, MATLAB, or other scripting languages for RF data analysis.
  • Familiarity with GIS tools for mapping signal coverage and drone flight planning.
  • Understanding of FAA Part 107 regulations for drone operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automated drone flight software for RF surveys.
  • Hands-on experience with military or defense-grade RF systems.
  • Background in radar systems, satellite communications, or remote sensing.
