Location: 100% Remote. Candidates must be based in the US and be comfortable working from their home office.

Initial Duration: 6 months with the likelihood of extensions in 6 month increments.

Responsibilities

• Design, modify, develop and implement technology solutions; build modern, architecturally sound components, tools and applications to meet strategic business goals.
• Oversee team of developers from external software development partners.
• Lead an environment of rapidly transforming software, adhering to best practices and collaborating effectively with your assigned team members.
• Ensure quality of service characteristics, such as security, scalability, manageability and maintainability, into distributed service-based framework to create or expand business or technical capabilities.
• Document development iterations; ensure the quality of technical documentation; create progress reports
• Lead in code and design reviews with network, infrastructure and solutions engineering teams to ensure that solutions meet current enterprise standards

Required Skills and Experience

• Requires at 7+ years of software development experience in Cobol developed on the iSeries platform.
• Must have experience in the design and architecture of front-end applications.
• Must have knowledge of iSeries API's, data queues, user queues, multithreading, Journaling and IBM iSeries file systems such as library-based system etc.
• Experience with SQL and MQ Series is a plus.
• Must have experience in the development of applications with current SOA or API architecture techniques.
• Experience in designing multi-tier business logic-based systems.
• Experience working with embedded SQL.
• Bachelor s Degree
